Voicethread Assignment Builder

Modified on Tue, 29 Mar 2022 at 10:44 AM

Important: VoiceThread has an Assignment Builder feature that SAS Online Learning courses do not typically use. If you grade students for work with VoiceThread in your SAS Online Learning course, you are technically using a Canvas assignment with the VoiceThread integration, not the VoiceThread Assignment Builder feature.

The following article explains what the VoiceThread Assignment Builder feature is and how to use it. Please consult with your Instructional Designer or reach out to online-learning-help@sas.upenn.edu for further instruction if you are interested in using the VoiceThread Assignment Builder.

What Is the VoiceThread Assignment Builder?

To have grades integrated into your Canvas gradebook you can use the Assignment Builder. You can require students to create a VoiceThread of their own to submit, to comment on a VoiceThread you’ve created, or simply to watch a VoiceThread start to finish.

SAS Online Learning usually uses VoiceThread in a more qualitative way. Assignment builder grades students solely on quantitative measures. As the instructor, you can build the assignment to include the number of slides you would like the student to include, how many comments they need to have in each slide, etc. This would only measure the requirements of the assignment.

Assignment Types
