Beginning Wednesday, January 20, 2021, recordings stored in PennZoom that are older than 120 days will be deleted from Zoom’s cloud storage.
Important Notes:
For example, a recording made on October 15, 2020 will be moved to trash on February 12, 2021.
- All important recordings should continue to be downloaded and saved to alternative storage solutions within their 120-day retention period.
Please note that existing recordings in Panopto will NOT be affected by this change. PennZoom classroom recordings initiated from within Canvas will continue to automatically be moved into Panopto for long-term storage
Key dates can be seen here:
Date of recording | Date moved to trash |
After September 20, 2020 | 120 days from the recording date |
Downloading and storing recordings
Information about how to download recordings is available at ISC's PennZoom Cloud Recording Management page.
Downloaded recordings must be stored, shared, and viewed using alternate platforms. Zoom does not allow deleted or downloaded recordings to be re-uploaded to Zoom.
Some suggestions for alternative storage of recordings can be found below:
- Classroom recordings initiated directly from Zoom can be manually imported into Panopto for long-term storage.
- Instructions for importing previously scheduled Zoom meetings into Panopto can be found on the Zoom for Faculty and Staff page.
For more information on PennZoom’s autodelete policy, including instructions on downloading your recordings, and information about recording files, please visit ISC's PennZoom Information Page
