Storage Time Limit on Penn Zoom Recordings

Modified on Fri, May 8 at 3:02 PM

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Overview

Recordings stored in users' personal Penn Zoom accounts that are older than 120 days will be deleted from Zoom’s cloud storage.

  • All important recordings should continue to be downloaded and saved to alternative storage solutions within their 120-day retention period.

Please note that existing recordings in Panopto will NOT be affected by this change.  Classroom recordings initiated from within Canvas (Via the Zoom button in the Canvas menu) will continue to automatically be moved into Panopto for long-term storage.

Downloading Recordings

Downloaded recordings must be stored, shared, and viewed using alternate platforms.  Zoom does not allow deleted or downloaded recordings to be re-uploaded to Zoom.

Steps to Download your Zoom Recordings

  1. Navigate to https://upenn.zoom.us/ and sign in with your pennkey and pennkey password.
  2. Along the left hand side you will find a menu, look for the heading Recordings and Transcripts.
  3. After clicking into Recordings and Transcripts, you should see your recordings represented as individual squares.
  4. Along the bottom of each recording, you will see three horizontal dots.
  5. Click on the three dots and select Download.

Its recommended that you download all parts of the recording for your records.
