Gradescope for Students

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Gradescope is a tool instructors can use to efficiently distribute, collect, and grade assessments. Your course will be using variable-length submissions.

Variable-length submissions

In most cases, your instructor will allow you to turn in a variable-length submission for written assignments. This means your answers may span across any number of pages and responses do not have to be located in the same place on each page.

Please read Gradescope's Best Practices Documentation for Submitting assignments for more information for your specific assignment.

Submission via Gradescope Mobile App

Gradescope released a mobile app for US-based students who would prefer to submit material that way. Please follow Gradescope's Guidance on How to Use the Gradescope Mobile App

  • Please note that the University of Pennsylvania will not be listed in the 'Find Your Institution' menu and students cannot log in via Pennkey, but if students log in using the same email that is used in Canvas it should link students to the correct course. If the course does not automatically link, please look up the course by course code.

Additional Support

If you have questions or an issue arises while trying to submit via Gradescope, please write to your instructor first to let them know and then please write to online-learning-help@sas.upenn.edu.
