Before you watch the tutorials, please note:
- It is recommended that you consult the Panopto visual glossary before you work through these tutorials, as well as use this glossary as a reference while creating Panopto content. The glossary covers Panopto’s specialized terminology.
- If you are new to Panopto, it is recommended that you watch these video tutorials in order to learn all steps in the process for creating media in Panopto.

How to Install and Record with Panopto
This is helpful for people who just need to get started with the basics of Panopto.
Basic Editing in Panopto
This is helpful for people who want to trim the beginning or end of a video or remove a certain section.
Advanced Editing in Panopto
This is helpful for people who want to switch streams mid video -- example: switching between primary feed (their face from the webcam) and secondary feed (their computer screen).
Combining Two Videos Using Merge in Panopto
This is helpful if someone wants to combine two videos and is not able to using the Panopto editor.
Adding Captions in Panopto
This is helpful if someone wants to add caption to a Panopto video.
Please note: If you plan to use Panopto’s quiz feature, it is recommended that you add quizzes to a Panopto video before you generate captions. Videos with pending captions cannot have quizzes added to them, so requesting captions before adding quizzes will slow down the video-creation process for your course by approximately 8-24 hours, depending on the video’s length.
Adding a Quiz to a Panopto Video
This is helpful for people who want to add a quiz to a Panopto video.
Please note: Panopto quizzes must be added to your Canvas site as assignments if you want to grade students for taking these quizzes: How to Use a Panopto Quiz as a Canvas Assessment.
