New Quizzes for Students
New Quizzes is a new assessment tool in Canvas. Your instructor can choose from either the New Quizzes or the Classic Quizzes option in Canvas. You may see slightly different question types or user interfaces depending on which version your instructor has chosen to use.
New Question Types
There are a few new question types that you may be presented with during the New Quizzes Assessment.
Please consult this Canvas New Quizzes documentation that goes over each question type and how to submit your answers.
Instructor Feedback
After you have taken a New Quiz, you can view your assessment results for any assessment created in New Quizzes. You can also view feedback left by your instructor for specific answers. Please refer to the "How do I view my assessment results?" documentation created by Canvas.
- Please Note: If you cannot view points in your assessment results, your instructor has hidden points awarded and/or points possible.
Retake a New Quiz
Some instructors will allow you to retake an assessment. The assessment will show you if you are allowed multiple attempts. In the picture below Point 1, you can see that one attempt remains. If you would like to start another attempt you would simply select Point 2, where it says Begin.
Please Note: Not all instructors allow retakes. If you have questions about a particular quiz, reach out to your instructor before taking the assessment. Also, If you see a different screen than above you may be taking a regular quiz assessment and not a "New Quiz".
If you encounter an issue during the quiz, please contact your instructor immediately to let them know.
After you contact your instructor, please reach out to online-learning-help@sas.upenn.edu for technical support (Examples: questions appearing incorrectly, unable to open quiz, etc.)
