Panopto Capture (Browser Version of Panopto)

If you are having trouble with the Panopto recorder, please try Panopto Capture, a browser-based recorder that does not require a download or installation to create videos. It is currently supported in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Support for other web browsers is coming in the future.

Panopto Application vs Panopto Capture (Browser Version)

We recommend using the Panopto Application from your desktop or laptop computer to create the best content possible. However, if your Panopto application is not working, you can use Panopto Capture, the browser version of Panopto.

You can now access both versions of Panopto via the New Rich Content Editor located in your Canvas Course.

Simply select the green Panopto triangle, circled in the image below.

After clicking the green Panopto triangle you can choose from three options:

Choose a Video to share (from already created content in the classes Canvas folder)
Upload a New Video
Record a New Panopto Video (using either the app or the browser)
