Using Panopto Recorder to Record a Video for a Discussion

Modified on Fri, 02 Feb 2024 at 11:33 AM

Overview

There are multiple ways students can record videos to post to a Canvas Discussion.

One way is to use the Panopto Video Recorder button (green triangle-shaped ribbon logo) that students will find built into the Rich Content Text Editor anywhere they are asked to enter a response in Canvas.

The Panopto Button looks like this in the Rich Content Editor:

Triangle Ribbon circled inside the rich content editor toolbar

(Please Note: you may need to click the three vertical dots to expand the toolbar to see the Panopto button.)

Please see the attached file that contains instructions written by the Penn Medical Ethics and Public Health online learning team on how to use the Panopto recorder in one of your online courses to record and post to the discussion.*
