Avoid AI - Use Recommended Options
It is strongly recommended that faculty and staff not use AI-generated images and videos because they:
- Are prone to errors, reflecting poorly on Penn’s brand
- Capture your intellectual property to train the model
- Leave Penn liable to copyright infringement and/or licensing violations
Instead of AI, use these options:
- Images: Use Adobe stock images — This is a free and very powerful tool that all staff members have access to. It is easy to FILTER OUT AI images on your search.
- Videos: Create your own videos using these instructions or contact Zachary Humenik (zhumenik@sas.upenn.edu) for help creating professional-quality media.
Additional Image Sources
- Nasa.gov
- Noaa.gov
- Nih.gov
- commons.wikimedia.org
- Any textbook associated with this course that the students will purchase
- Any figures or images from journals that Penn students can access through the library
Other Sources to Avoid
- News websites
- Google searches
- Textbooks not assigned to the class
Please Note
- Graphs that have no artistic effort are OK -- you cannot copyright data
- If there are images that we cannot find in any of the cleared resources, please compile a list of these images and we will have our illustrator create a bespoke version. Please email Zachary Humenik (zhumenik@sas.upenn.edu) for help.
