Overview

Lowering video resolution is one way to decrease video size which makes for quicker and easier uploads to Canvas.

iOS/Apple

Please see the following instructions from Apple on how to change the video resolution on one of their devices.

Android

Each Android mobile device has slightly different settings but the general instructions provided below should get you to the settings you need to change:

    1. Open the Camera/Video app on your Android device.
    2. Select the Settings icon (gear icon) to access the camera settings.
    3. Look for the "Video size" or "Video resolution" option and tap on it.
    1. Select the video format that you want to use. Depending on your device, you may be able to choose from options such as 720p, 1080p, or 4K. (Since we are lowering resolution 720p or lower is better)

We recommend looking in the advanced settings area for the Camera/Video as well, there may be additional features you can toggle off to lower the size of the video located there.
