TABLE OF CONTENTS

Annual Archiving Policy for Panopto Videos

Starting on September 17, 2024, all videos in Panopto that were created three years ago or more and have not been played over the last 13 months or more will be automatically archived. SAS Online Learning will unarchive any videos you recorded with our Media team, but you will need to unarchive any videos you have uploaded yourself. If you do not unarchive videos after five years, they will be permanently deleted from Panopto.

Recommendations

SAS Online Learning recommends looking for archived videos on September 17th if you have ever used Panopto to store videos that you intend to keep indefinitely.

Some scenarios may include:

  • Videos uploaded to the Class Recordings area in Canvas
  • A meeting recorded through the Zoom button in Canvas
  • Any recordings you have added to "My Folders" in Panopto
